Today's Word

A better perspective

Surely God is good to Israel,
to those who are pure in heart.
But as for me, my feet had almost slipped;
I had nearly lost my foothold.
For I envied the arrogant
when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
- Psalm 73:1–3

In Psalm 73, we read about the anguish of the psalmist Asaph as he witnessed the prosperity of the wicked and arrogant. His distress was so great that he was on the verge of falling away from the faith (Psalm 73:2). Fixing our eyes on the injustices around us only brings bitterness, envy, and pain.

Everything changed when he considered where true wealth comes from: our hope in God! He remembered that God had never abandoned him. In fact, God upheld and counseled him through life’s difficulties (verses 23–24). He recognized that his eternal future was secure. The Lord Himself would receive him into glory for all eternity!

Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
- Psalm 73:23–24

This is the security of all God’s children. We may see injustices on this earth and even suffer, while others seem to live in pleasure. But we must keep our eyes fixed on the Lord and live with the perspective of eternity, which will be far better than we can imagine.

But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.
- 2 Peter 3:13

Word of the Day: All that you Need will be Provided

God knows what you need, trust. Jesus taught us not to worry about tomorrow. God knows what we need and will supply all our needs.

But this promise comes with a condition: to put the Kingdom of God first in your life. You have to surrender wholeheartedly.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33

Matthew 6:33 emphasizes the importance of seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, assuring that all other needs will be met. This instruction resonates as an invitation to place our trust in divine providence by making the Kingdom of God our primary pursuit.

By trusting in His guidance and seeking God's righteousness, you'll unlock the doors to the generous provision He promised to those who earnestly seek Him. So, dive into faith, confident that God is faithful to His word and will fulfill His promises in your life.

Are you ready to throw yourself into Jesus' arms without looking back? Do it and then pray and ask. The God who knows you better than anyone else will bless you with everything you need.

Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

- 1 John 3:21-23

Jumping for the Lord

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.
- Colossians 3:23

Nicola Olyslagers is an Australian high jump athlete. Watching her jump is incredibly inspiring. She spreads her arms, smiles broadly, and shouts words of encouragement. With a smile on her face, she begins her approach. After jumping and she often succeeds, she runs to write in her journal what she felt, what she did well, and what she can improve.

What’s interesting about this young woman is that she is an evangelical Christian who faithfully witnesses to her faith in God. She jumps with the Lord and for the Lord, to make His love known wherever she goes. She encourages other athletes and young people to seek God and live for Him. The stadium is her place of ministry, where she impacts others with the love of God.

What talent has God given you that you can use to show His love to those around you? Can you bake delicious cakes? Are you really good at math? Do you enjoy driving your car? Out of love for God and to advance His Kingdom, you can give your cakes to people in need, tutor marginalized children in math, or use your car to transport sick elderly people who have no family nearby.

God has given all of us special talents and abilities that we can use to show His love and bless others. Start using your gifts to inspire others in their walk with Jesus, and you will see the joy of the Lord grow within you.

For this is what the Lord has commanded us:
“‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles,
that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.
- Acts 13:47
