Today's Word

Pray for the right things

When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
- James 4:3

God does not always give us what we ask for. Why? Because many times we do not ask correctly. We think we know what is best, but God has other plans. Other times our motivation is wrong. Our focus is not on God. When we seek God’s will above all else and ask for the right things, God responds.

Do you want to pray correctly? Spend time with God and ask Him what He wants to do in your life, in your family, in the situations you are facing, and in the world in general. Learn to ask according to God’s will, and you will see how you will receive more answers to your prayers.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
- 1 John 5:14–15

When we set aside what our emotions desire and learn to listen to the voice of God, we begin to ask for what is on His heart. Focus on God, seek His face, listen to His loving whisper, and learn to pray according to the Father’s heart.

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
- John 15:7

Open the door!

The Lord, in His infinite mercy and love, draws near to each of us, gently knocking at the door of our hearts. He does not force His way in but patiently waits for us to choose to open and allow Him to enter. This image of Jesus waiting outside, longing to meet us, is a powerful reminder of His willingness to be with us, regardless of our circumstances.

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
- Revelation 3:20

Opening the door means more than simply inviting Him in. It means full surrender, unwavering trust, and the decision to let Him take control of our lives. When we hear Jesus’ voice and open the door, we welcome the peace that surpasses all understanding, the indescribable joy, and true fellowship with our Creator.

Each day, we are called to make that decision: to open the door and let Jesus transform our lives. In a world full of distractions and challenges, it’s easy to ignore the sound of His voice. Yet true life full and abundant is found when we invite Jesus in.

May we, with open and willing hearts, hear the Lord’s call and allow Him to dwell in our lives. Then we will experience the divine feast, where He nourishes us with His love, grace, and truth, establishing an eternal and unbreakable communion. Open the door, and let the King of Glory enter and transform everything for His glory.

Don't Give Up, You're More Than a Winner

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:37-39

Do you realize that God will never abandon you? Your situation may be dire but don't give up. God is in control of everything, and has already taken action to provide you with success!

When God promised to take the people of Israel out of Egypt, things became a lot tougher at first. For those who were enslaved, their work increased, and the harshness of the taskmasters more and more. Hope diminished each time Pharaoh said no. But God is faithful, he liberated His people.

11 and brought Israel out from among them
His love endures forever.
12 with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;
His love endures forever.

13 to him who divided the Red Sea asunder
His love endures forever.
14 and brought Israel through the midst of it,
His love endures forever.
15 but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea;
His love endures forever.

16 to him who led his people through the wilderness;
His love endures forever.

Psalm 136:11-16

Through the cross and the death of Jesus, God has also liberated us. Life now may be difficult, we face daily struggles, but what about the 'big picture'? - death itself has been conquered so that we can spend eternity with God. We have been given the assurance that nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God. God loves you, and His love endures forever!

With God's love, we are champions!
