Redeem your time

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
- Ecclesiastes 3:1

How do you spend your time? We may be using the opportunities God has given us wisely or on the other hand, we may be wasting one of the most precious gifts He has given us: time!

Some people say “time is money,” as Benjamin Franklin once stated. But more than that, time is life! A very wealthy person may not have time to enjoy their fortune and could die without ever experiencing the fruit of their labor. But a person with life and time can work honestly and enjoy the results of what they produce.

There’s another popular saying: “Lost time is never found again.” And that is very true. We live our lives counting the years, days, minutes, and seconds as they slip away like fine sand in an hourglass. Until our journey on earth ends, we need to recognize what is consuming most of our time... Pause for a moment and consider: Where have you been spending most of your time? (Habits, chores, routines...)

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
- Ephesians 5:15–16

It’s interesting how these verses teach us to redeem our time. How? If we are mindful of how we live and seek to live with wisdom, we are redeeming our time. Otherwise, we waste it, living foolishly and spending it on things that are useless or meaningless.

Redeem the time you would otherwise lose! Seek heavenly wisdom and ask God for guidance in your daily choices. He can help you make the most of the time in your life by using it for what truly matters.

Word of the Day: Do you know the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit?

God reveals Himself to us in three different forms: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, we also refer to this as The Trinity:

  • The Father is the will, the heart of God. All plans come from the Father.
  • The Son is Jesus, God appearing as a man to save us.
  • The Holy Spirit is God entering into the hearts of those who believe, transforming their lives.

You could also think of the trinity as the narrative of our salvation: The Father began our salvation story, the Son accomplishes it through His death and resurrection, and the Holy Spirit applies it to our lives by convicting, transforming, and sanctifying us. Belief in the Trinity places salvation beneath the magnifying glass and provides a clearer view of God's perfect work of redemption.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Matthew 28: 18-19

The Trinity is an important part of the Christian faith. Note the last words spoken to by Jesus in the book of Matthew, in what is known as The Great Commission. We are commanded to baptize people in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each is treated equally in this passage by Jesus.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

2 Corinthians 13:14

The presence of God the Father, Son, and Spirit in your life fills your heart with joy and hope and enables you to live the life He desires for you. Without God in our hearts, there is a void in our spirits that we constantly seek to fill.

When we receive God and let Him reign in our hearts, everything changes. Our life finds a good direction, our spirit calms knowing it has been redeemed, and our heart leaps for joy when we feel the movement of God's Spirit. Let us worship the Trinity God, who has given eternal meaning to our lives.

3 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

Day Before Yesterday's Word

God has a surprise prepared for you!

The Bible says that God likes to give us much more than we ask for... or can even imagine! Every father enjoys surprising the child he loves with good things. How much more will God give good things to His children? God is our Father and takes great pleasure in blessing us.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
- Ephesians 3:20-21

Trust that if you surrender your entire life, will, and future into the hands of the Lord, you will be greatly surprised... He is sovereign, extremely kind, and will lead you to a safe harbor, granting miracles, peace, and victories you never imagined! Just believe with all your heart and depend on Christ, in every moment. God will take care of your life, He has a new story waiting for you...

Let God surprise you! Pray, and tell God what your dreams and plans are. Ask Him to guide you and help you make important decisions in life. Remain steadfast in the presence of the Lord. Keep seeking God and His righteousness, and all other things you need will be added to you. Surely, He has a future of blessings for you!

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Let yourself be surprised by God's blessings!
