Here are some studies of the Word for Sunday services, cell meetings and youth services. Words for times when the offering and tithe are ministered. These passages are explained in a light, quick and practical way, to encourage brothers and sisters to participate in God's work.

1. A good and faithful servant

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."
Matthew 25:21

Aim of the word: to generate in the giver a heart committed to God's work.

He who is faithful in little is faithful in much. When we give our offerings with an open heart, God also blesses us abundantly. God doesn't care how much we give, but how we give it. Do we give our first fruits or our leftovers?

Be faithful in the little and God will place you in the much!

2. Honoring God with your resources

9 Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
and your vats will brim over with new wine.
Proverbs 3:9-10

Aim of the word: to encourage the church to honor the Lord with its first fruits.

When we decide to offer God part of any resources we receive, we are dedicating our first fruits to him. God is pleased with those who want to please him. Abundance is a consequence of our commitment to God. The more we honor God, the more we are surprised by him.

3. Give from the heart and not out of obligation

"7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."
2 Corinthians 9:7-8

Aim of the word: to make givers aware that giving is not an obligation, but an act of love for God's work.

Give from the heart and not out of obligation. Create in your heart the desire to participate in God's work. When we give joyfully, we are added to in blessings. God gives us everything we need. So give with joy and a sense of gratitude.

When we give with joy, we generate a grateful heart!

4. Giving away the full cost

The Widow’s Offering

21 As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. 2 He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. 3 “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. 4 All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”

Luke 21:1-4

Aim of the word: to make the church aware of the importance of giving an offering.

This does not concern the monetary amount, but how we value our offerings. Don't give your leftovers to the Lord. Accept the challenge of giving God something of real value. It may be a hard effort, but God sees and repays our efforts.

5. Tithing is a commitment

10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.
Malaquias 3:10

Aim of the word: to encourage members to be committed to tithing.

God asks to be put to the test, knowing that the greatest beneficiary of this trial will be you. He is the owner of the gold and silver, but he knows that our resources - when added to the efforts of the congregation - don't just feed us, but everyone who attends his house.

The tithe is a reflection of those who are committed to the work in which they were planted. As long as there is food in His house, we are fed, and we can open places at the table for more people to participate in this banquet. Be committed to the work where you have been planted, and experience God's blessings.

6. Our resources for the Kingdom

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33

Aim of the word: to make the church aware of the importance of financial contributions to the Kingdom of God.

Our resources can be used as a way of seeking the Kingdom of God first. When we set aside our resources for the house of God, we are fostering the growth of the Kingdom on earth.

What we give to God will not be missed; on the contrary, it is a small seed planted in good soil. We will be nourished by the fruit we plant in this land, which flows with milk and honey!

7. Giving is better than receiving

35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
Acts 20:35

Aim of the word: to encourage generosity.

One of the joys we have when we help those in need is the knowledge that God has enabled us to do so. Even if the initiative comes from us, without God's permission nothing would be possible. God gives us the financial potential, knowing the benefits that the feelings of gratitude and solidarity giving generate in us.

Participating in God's work is good and bears good fruit!
