But Christmas is so much more than that. It is a special time to give thanks to God for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. These Bible verses about the birth of Jesus will help you do just that.

1. Luke 2:10-11

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. - Luke 2:10-11

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

Near the place where Jesus was born, there were shepherds keeping watch over their flocks. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared to them in a great light to give them wonderful news: Jesus, the Savior of the world, had been born!

The angel encouraged the shepherds to go and see where the special baby was. Suddenly, a multitude of angels appeared in the sky and began praising God.

Today, you too can give glory and praise to God for the wonderful gift of Jesus. Praise the Father for the forgiveness of your sins and for the salvation he has granted you through His Son, Jesus Christ.

2. Matthew 1:21-23

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,because he will save his people from their sins.”
